Cluster Headaches, Depression and Hyperactivity 02894...UK
On 23 December 2013, a male patient, age 34, came in with acute symptoms of headache, watery eyes, and a stiff neck. He was unable to bend his neck to the left. He had suffered from cluster headaches for the past 14 years. For periods of 6-8 weeks at a time, he would experience 2-4 severe headaches a day, each lasting up to an hour. The attacks were worse in the autumn. He had tried many treatments including homoeopathy, ayurveda, acupuncture, acupressure, Chinese medicine and cupping, in addition to the allopathic drugs that he had been taking for the past 10 years. He was currently taking Paracetamol, migraine tablets, Nurofen, and also Sumotriptan injections to control the severe pain. His wife administered the injections to him in the middle of the night when he was woken up by attacks, which felt like an iron bar being driven into his brain. The injections calmed the pain and enabled him to get some sleep. Because of the headaches, he had not slept through the night in 13 years.
His mental and emotional health was also poor. He always felt frightened and sick, he had stopped going out, and had quit his job. He was feeling suicidal because the National Health Service was refusing to renew his prescription for the Sumotriptan injections due to high cost.
In addition, his illness had been taking a toll on his family. His 3-year-old son had been exhibiting behavioural problems such as tantrums, hyperactivity, and attention-seeking behaviour. His wife was also under great stress. At this time, she was also 8 months pregnant with twins and her husband had been jobless for 8 months.
The practitioner treated the whole family, as they were all affected by his condition.
The husband was given:
CC10.1 Emergencies + CC11.3 Headaches + CC11.4 Migraines + CC15.1 Mental & Emotional tonic + CC18.1 Brain disabilities...QDS
After one week, his headaches were reduced by as much as 50%. After two weeks, the headaches were completely gone. After two months’ treatment, his overall health was 80% better. He no longer had suicidal feelings, was sleeping better and feeling very much happier. The patient then discontinued vibro. He went back to work. On 6 January 2015, the patient reported that he was still headache free.
The son was given:
CC10.1 Emergencies + CC15.1 Mental & Emotional tonic + CC15.5 ADD & Autism + CC17.3 Brain & Memory tonic...QDS
He took the combo for one month and returned to being a happy, contented and calmer child. He also slept better.
The wife was given:
CC10.1 Emergencies + CC12.1 Adult tonic + CC15.1 Mental & Emotional tonic...TDS
She gave birth to healthy twins one month later. As of 5 January 2014, mother and babies were doing well and the wife was also happy now that her husband was happily working.
The family have resumed their normal lives.
